Bill Oberst Jr., a Lon Chaney Award and Emmy Award-winning actor, reads Gothic literature to help keep us all sane in his new podcast.
“I wanted to do these broadcasts because right now we’re spending a lot of time at home, all of us,” Bill Oberst Jr. says in the introduction to the first episode of his new podcast Gothic Goodnight, “and because I think our imagination may be starved.”
Oberst, a cult horror actor known for his work in Criminal Minds, Scream Queens, Rob Zombie’s 3 From Hell and so many other films, decided to make good use of his downtime by producing a new podcast he describes as “a visit to a moonlit library for obscure Gothic snacks.”
In the first episode, Bill offers an escape from reality into the dark woods as he reads “The Hollow of the Three Hills” by Nathaniel Hawthorne and “The Conquerer Worm” by Edgar Allan Poe.
