Ronald DeFeo Jr., the Amityville Horror killer
Before the Lutz family made the house famous in The Amityville Horror, Ronald DeFeo Jr. shot and killed his entire family while they slept in their beds.
Joseph Oberhansley admitted to murdering his ex-girlfriend and eating portions of her body because he could read her thoughts.
Tammy Jo Blanton didn’t show up for work on September 11, 2014. The police were called to check on her. At her home in Jeffersonville, Indiana, Tammy’s ex boyfriend Joseph Oberhansley answered the door. As they questioned him, the officers noticed Oberhansley was acting suspicious. They entered the home and discovered Tammy’s body in the bathtub. Autopsy revealed cause of death to be sharp force trauma to the head, neck and torso.
Parts of her heart, lungs and brain were missing.
Inside Tammy’s home, police found a plate with skull bone and blood, and a skillet and tongs with blood on the handle.
Oberhansley was arrested. He eventually admitted to killing Tammy, cutting her open with an electric saw, and eating the missing pieces of her organs. He claimed he had been able to hear Tammy’s thoughts, and believed she was planning to decapitate him.
He also shot and killed a previous 17 year-old girlfriend in 1998, as well as shooting his mother (who survived and forgave him) and at his sister. Sadly, it’s no surprise he killed again.
