What’s the strangest unexplained thing that’s ever happened to you?
I recently posed that question to Cult of Weird readers on Facebook. I wanted to hear their most bizarre “glitch in the matrix” stories, the eerie “Twilight Zone” moments that they still can’t explain, the creepy encounters that keep them awake at night.
I had no idea what I was in for.
The responses were pretty damn strange, to say the least: Missing time, shared dreams, UFO sightings, people and inanimate objects alike vanishing or appearing from out of nowhere, children recalling their deaths in a past life.
Here are some of the strangest and/or most chilling responses..
Lost and Found
Disappearing Object Phenomenon – when objects vanish in plain sight and then reappear later right where you left them or in a completely unexpected place. Is it paranormal? A prankster poltergeist? Domovoy? Or is it simply a case of “selective attention?”
In these cases, there seems to be no rational explanation.
In the Catacombs
When I was in Vienna I went to go see the catacombs and had worn some earrings that clipped into itself in the back. The entrance to the catacombs was on one side and the exit on the other side of the church. When I walked down the stairs I went to fix my hair and realized my earrings were gone. I looked in my purse and on the ground and nothing! I continued through the tour and at the end I was about to walk up and noticed something shiny on the ground. They were my earrings, wet and felt like ice cubes. To this day I don’t know how they ended up on the other side. – Audrey R
Buffalo Nickels
My Dad collected coins. His favorite was the buffalo nickel because our last name was Nichols. After he died I found a buffalo nickel the year of his birth “1936” in my kitchen junk drawer. My husband and I have no idea how it got there since we didn’t own a nickel like that. – Sheree N
Brownies
When I was younger I would regularly stay at my late Paternal Grandmother’s house when my father was working. One day my Grandmother couldn’t find her car keys that she would religiously put on a key hook when not in use. It had a very distinctive fob with blue and red rhinestones. After fruitlessly searching the house she stood in the middle of the living room, covered her eyes and asked “The Brownies” to return the keys. She said a certain rhyme but I don’t remember the words. I remember she looked at my gawping face and smiled and we both turned around and there on the coffee table were the keys! Keep in mind this was a very neat and tidy house with no other people in the house and no pets. We both knew that the coffee table was bare not 1 minute before. She picked up the keys and we left on our errand, but she left a little cup of milk on the kitchen counter as a “ thank you “. It didn’t occur to me to question this until much later in life. – Terry L

Discovered human teeth in my grandmother’s backyard when I was a child… Found out many years later that during WWII the street I grew up on was actually an internment camp for German POW’s. – Joshua B
Ring
I lost a sapphire ring my dad gave me when I turned 15…..two years later I was washing my face in the bathroom sink and the ring fell into the bowl of the sink while I was splashing water onto my face. I was all alone, and there was nothing above me that it could have fallen from!!? – Peggy M

Not super creepy but it was amusing. I was sitting on my bed alone in my room then all of a sudden I get pegged upside my head by something. I start to look for what hit me and see a penny beside me. – Danielle D

When our new 5 pence coins came out in the uk. My dad started to collect them. He passed 10 years ago now. We hardly ever carry cash about these days but I find 5pence coins everywhere in the house, garden in the street. I know he’s with me constantly. – Amanda G
Renovations
20+ years ago, my husband renovated a 100 year old church into artist studios. during renovation, things would happen like he would be working and would say “damn! i really need a drill extension” then pull up some floorboards and there was a drill extension. He was working on one studio and he mentioned he needed more electrical tape… took down a wall and some electrical tape came rolling out. At one point we were all sitting around and heard a sound out of the blue, and this silver enamel crucifix ring rolled out of a pile of debris. He wore that ring for the several years we lived there. The morning we moved out, he held up his hand – no ring. – Karyn H
Swapping Keys
About 3 years ago, me and my friend were working together on a project at a college campus that we both work at regularly. We were in the library when I got called over to another building. When I got to the other building I realized that I left my keys in the library and texted Dana to please grab them for me when he was done in the library, he said ok.
About an hour later Dana walks into the room that I’m in and I reach in my pocket and my keys were in my pocket. I said, oh I’m sorry I guess I had my keys all along, he looked stunned and said no, I have your keys, he reached into his pocket and he didn’t have them. Missing Remote
Back in year 2008 I lived in an old apartment with my then boyfriend now husband and we couldn’t find his hat or our DVD remote anywhere in our small apartment. Right before we were done looking for his hat and remote outta nowhere the same spot I’d looked maybe if I remember correctly back then I checked over and over again, the hat was there in plain sight! We were spooked! We never found the remote though! Pretty weird!!! – Mary M
Trickster
I came home from work one day and put my keys on the counter. That evening I went to get the keys and they were gone. I was the only one in the house. I searched everywhere. Garbage cans, the refrigerator, couch cushions… everywhere.. had to get out my spare keys. Came home from work about a week later and the keys were laying on the kitchen counter! But that’s just 1 small thing. The house was definitely haunted. But by a trickster. Always sill little things. – Norma L

St. Christopher
My family lived over a museum in the historic part of Harpers Ferry, WV. The building we lived in had been the Master Armorers House, it had also been used as a hospital during the Civil War. My family had many supernatural experiences in the year we lived there, but I seemed to suffer the worst of it. One night when my Dad was on duty (he was a park ranger), he ran into a man of the cloth from some diocese in NY, or somewhere. This man gave my Dad a St. Christopher medal and told my Dad that I needed it. My Dad had not told this man a thing about me, our family, where we lived, anything. Pandemic
My dreams often come true and I’ve been right 17 times after dreaming of the gender of people’s babies, sometimes even telling them before they knew they were pregnant because I had dreamt about it. I had a dream in January I was in a church and there were hundreds of coffins in the church my sister was there in her scrubs with a mask on as was her husband screaming it can’t be contained. Well who knew that dream was about the coronavirus. I had a dream about the protests in my city, saw yet again masks everywhere and watched a cop get shot in the head near the mall on the strip in my dream this was in February well last month we had the protests and a cop got shot in the head right near the mall. Alligators on a Plane
Once dreamt about a plane full of people and that an alligator started running round causing panic. Next thing the plane exploded and people and the alligator were falling out the sky. I woke up and thought nothing of it other than it was just a weird random dream. Later that day went to the shop and bought a newspaper. One report, a story from another country of a plane carrying live cargo including an alligator that had escaped its cage and caused panic eventually leading to the plane crashing. I’ve no idea why my subconscious brain decided to pick up on this particular story. – Ems L
Be Careful
I travel a lot for work and my admin makes my reservations. As a woman traveling alone, I have several preferences and she always comes through on the reservations. I was staying in one of my fav and frequent hotels and was using an app for the sound of a loud box fan to help me sleep. I woke up to someone clearly saying, “you be careful, now.” It was so clear, it was like someone was in the room sitting right next to me. I figured it was my sleepy mind playing tricks on me and went back to sleep. A few days later I was checking into another hotel and parts of it were being renovated. I was suspicious about how comfortable this stay was going to be. A creepy contractor got on the elevator after me and got off on my same floor, even though he chose a different floor when he got on. This is always a red flag, so I purposely did not head towards my assigned room. He asked if I needed any help with my luggage and I declined. I pretended to adjust my bags so he could walk on past me, and as he did, he said, “you be careful, now.” I immediately went right back to the front desk, checked out, and found another hotel. I’ve since added “no current renovations” to my list of preferences. – Deborah V
Call
I dreamed of an event twice: the day before and the day it happened. In the smallest details. When I woke up the second time I said aloud: “Annie is going to call to say that the grandfather is in the hospital”. Immediately, the phone rang and it was my auntie annie. Truthful! I swear. – Dean M
Going Away
I dreamed that my friend came to my house to say goodbye, he was going away. The next morning I had a phone call to tell me he had died in the night. I can still remember him smiling as he said he was going. – Sue S
Death in the Family
I once had a dream of my ex boyfriends family, they were at a funeral for the death of one of his siblings. In the dream it wasn’t clear which sibling it was. At this point we hadn’t been together for years, and I hadn’t spoken to him or his family in years either. I didn’t think much of the dream other than it was strange that I dreamt of his family, I had never dreamt of them before. They had two bulldogs which they cherished and treated like their own children, I had never seen a family so centered around their dogs. In particular, one of his sisters had a bulldog that she had a special relationship with. When I woke up the next day after this dream, I was scrolling through my Instagram and found out that her beloved bulldog had passed on. I still feel like that dream was a telling of the future. There was no way I could have known their family would be suffering a loss, and I hadn’t even thought of them in years. It was quite touching. – Micah B
House Fire
Didn’t happen to me, but close. In my first years of life we lived in an apartment (old Victorian house) that my grandparents owned. When my mom was pregnant with my older brother she had a dream that that house caught fire and she saw a little blonde boy in the window. We moved out of the house when I was five (he was about 9). He had really bad nose bleeds and had one that day so he stayed home. Come to find out, the apartment caught fire that day. If we hadn’t moved there would have been a little blonde boy in the window of a burning house. – Taren S

My four-year-old put down her fork at dinner and turned around to look behind her, then turned forward and said, “Candace is here.” We don’t know anyone named Candace.
Dark Figure
When I was little I used to sleep with my brother I can remember sleeping against the wall and waking up and looking in the hallway and I saw a tall dark figure climbing out of the ceiling I closed my eyes and then when I opened them the figure was standing beside our bed looking down at me I tried to wake my brother without the figure seeing me but he would not wake up ,I just closed my eyes tightly and when I looked again it was gone until today I never knew what it was. – Pace D
Rocking Chair
I remember a sort of get together at my grandmother’s house. All the females, young and old were in a large bedroom, there was at least 10 to 15 of us. There was a rocking chair, in my mind it looked like at regular ordinary looking rocking chair. It had belonged to my great grandmother. There was previous claims of it rocking unaided, but I never saw that with my own eyes. Back to it, we were all in the room, sitting on beds or standing. Not a one of us touched it, nor had. Satanic Recruiter
I was pregnant with my first child, walking back to my car with my bf at the time after spending the day at the fair. A little guy, (I’m 5’5, and I towered him) came up to me from out of no where speaking Latin and handed me a pretty thick pamphlet and in the time I looked at it and back at him he just seemed to vanish. The pamphlet he handed me was about a local satanic group that I never was able to find. My bf freaked out over the whole exchange and threw the booklet away. Ouija
In summer camp in the mid 80s, asked a Ouija board some random question I can’t remember. It spelled N-E-A…and then a kid named Neal (and yep, he spelled it with an A and not an I) walked unannounced into the cabin. I’m a skeptic and science & logic lover but to this day that incident still weirds me out. – Dan J
Angel
I woke up from a deep sleep because my room was filled with light and a huge angel was sitting on the edge of my bed. Its features were bigger than ours. I said “so your real then” he just turned and said ‘Yes’ then in a blink of an eye he was gone. – Derek T
A Visit
When my friend died, shortly after I saw a puff of smoke cloud looking thing by the couch. Then I went into the kitchen and heard her say my name. I turned and made a sweeping gesture about the kitchen and said, “How do you like my kitchen?” as a joke because she was messy like me. And then when I went back in the living room I felt a hand on my face like it was stroking it. Then she was gone.
I wasn’t sure if I was losing it or this was real so I woke up my fiancé and asked him to sit with me to make sure I wasn’t having a stroke or something weird. – Kathleen D
Meeting Grandma
I was visiting my great grandfather’s house. I saw my great grandmother in the kitchen, and she smiled at me. Then I went off to play. When I was leaving, I looked into the kitchen again, and she was gone. I told my mom about how I saw my great-grandmother, but mom told me that couldn’t have been true, as she died years before I was born.
But it was definitely her. At the time, I had only seen one picture of my great grandmother; in a red sweater and grey pants, with a smile on her face. And that’s exactly what she looked like.
I’m not scared by this though. If anything, I’m at peace knowing that I got to “meet” her, even if just for a moment. – Emily T
Haunted Theater
Movie theater I worked at was haunted, multiple employees saw a man shaped apparition in the basement me included. Also felt like somebody was holding me back when I was up in the catwalks changing light bulbs. – Jon B

Hiking with my cousin as a kid and while scaling across the side of a very steep cliff I slipped. Something held me from falling. No part of my body was touching the rocks. – Chris P

Murder in the Woods
We had a female ghost that haunted our home in Spain when I was a teenager. You would hear her walking up the stairs, she’d turn lights off and on. Once I saw her in the middle of my room late at night when I woke up. She was staring at the floor holding her long hair back with one hand, semi transparent, 10 inches off the floor, I froze with fear then slowly covered my head with my sheets. My mom, me and a friend of hers did the Ouija after that and found out she had been brutally murdered in the 1960’s across the street in a wooded area from our house. – Diana D

Wrong Number
Another one that is a lot creepier. We stayed at a hotel in the gold country that is supposed to be haunted. Shared bathroom. Husband got up in the middle of the night to pee and the key to unlock the bathroom across the hall was missing. His searching woke me up. I helped him look under the dresser, in the dresser, our luggage, my purse, etc. Nothing. We had to go downstairs in the dark and use the restrooms next to the saloon. It was creepy. About 3 days later I was out shopping. I had driven my car and was alone. When I reached into my purse to get my car keys the hotel key was on top of my car keys. I called my husband to tell him that the key had reappeared-this was over bluetooth in the car-and instead of the phone ringing I heard the sound of water and creepy whispers. The whispers got more and more intense until I blurted out WRONG NUMBER and disconnected. When I redialed my husband answered and said all he could hear was coughing on his end. One of my ears and the side of my face was burning. Best believe I dropped that key in the nearest mailbox as fast as I could. It was one of those old fashioned “if lost please drop in the mail” keychains. – Marcy J
A Bright Spot
Many years ago I had a cervical fusion and was off work, was not able to drive or carry anything heavy for over a month. Everyday I would take a walk. I was slow and had to take lots of breaks. One day while walking I met a woman who I had never seen in our neighborhood. We started talking and she said she lived down the street. I explained I was very slow and she did not need to lag behind on my account. The next day she was outside our house waiting to walk with me. This went on for three weeks. She was an older black woman and we lived in a neighborhood that was not very diverse. I asked all my neighbors if they knew who she was. No one had a clue. The surgery left me extremely depressed. She was a bright spot during a dark time. Was very encouraging. Then one day she said on our walk that her job was done and she enjoyed the time we spent together. I waited for her everyday for about a week. I never saw her again. – Howie E

Cemetery Man
My best friend and I decided to go for a bike ride to a little small village. So small there was literally nobody outside. When we decided to bike home we went past 2 cemeteries on each side of the road. We decided to stop for a break after pedaling up a big hill and we watched a man in a full neck to toe black coat, and a black hat, so respectfully walk from one cemetery, across the road in front of us, no hello, boo, nothing, and kept walking and walking up into the other cemetery until we never saw him ever again. Dead Man’s Party
One time my sister went to an old cemetery to take orb pics. She got really spooked and wanted to sleep on my bed with me (I didn’t go with her). We heard voices as if there was a party or get together the whole night. It sounded like it was inside the house. Spectral Breeze
I was alone in my kitchen one night getting something from the refrigerator. Suddenly I noticed the wall calendar next to me, the pages were fluttering upward like with a gust of wind. All the windows and doors in the kitchen were closed. I even tried swinging the refrigerator door a few times thinking that I had somehow caused a breeze before, but I could not recreate the calendar pages fluttering like that. I visited a close deceased friend’s mom for the first time in over five years since the funeral. 10 minutes before we said our goodbyes, the phone rang and the caller ID said it was coming from my tiny home town 3k miles away (population less than 100). Tulsa Theater
I went on a ghost tour of the Tulsa Theater (Formerly the Brady Theater). We were led to the boiler room and tunnels under the theater where hundreds of black people were taken during the Tulsa Race Massacre. Once we hit that boiler room, an overwhelming feeling of dread and sadness washed over me. Enough to bring me to tears and to know evil happened there. Bottle Cap
Not anything super interesting but, I was cleaning up after a party, picked up a bottle cap off the floor and, set it on top of the entertainment center while I was wiping it down and, the bottle cap began to shake, then it slid down the entire length of the entertainment center (about 3.5 – 4 feet) and then flew off of it towards me. Basically it moved in the shape of an L by itself. All the electronics were off so it could not have been caused by anything electronic, even though I can’t imagine how that would happen anyway but, of course I was searching for an explanation. After I calmed down and came back inside the house anyway. To this day I still have trouble believing my own eyes, I still feel like there HAS TO BE a logical explanation. But, I admit, I am an eternal skeptic. – Cari T
Rough Waters
On a Greek Island and had to get the ferry back to the mainland. For some I got really scared about getting on the ferry; the sea was rough and there was talk of cancelling the ferry. I got on with my very happy go lucky friend. The engines started and I felt physically sick at the thought of drowning. I looked across the lounge and a man in a cream suit smiled and waved at me. The fear just vanished. We arrived safely, the sea was very calm. Didn’t see the man again for the length of the journey and didn’t see him at the port, despite looking for him. – Angelina L

Cousin
I was staying in a room with my 2 cousins & brother on camping beds in a house that my future uncle was building by hand out in the country.. We all went to sleep but I woke up with a really weird feeling, I looked up & there was what LOOKED like my youngest cousin hovering over me (I’m getting teary as I type this) looking directly at me. She had a weird transparency & was blue. I was so scared I slowly pulled up my covers hoping no sudden movements would provoke an action from her/it & eventually fell asleep from trying to fight to stay awake. I told everyone. Lost Woman
We live in a small town on the edge of the Mojave desert. I’d go out walking late at night. Seldom saw anyone, not even many cars. So one night I’d been out walking, as usual, and I’m returning home on the road that leads to our house. The road goes straight past the bottom of our cul de sac and then it just ends, drops into the desert. Nothing out there for hundreds of miles.
As I’m getting close to turning up our street I see a woman walk out of the desert, approaching me. It’s well past midnight. She’s on the sidewalk so I step out into the street, just so she won’t feel threatened. As I’m passing she says, “Excuse me, where is this?”
I told her the name of the street.
She replies, “What town?”
I tell her.
She then asks for a specific location in the town, so I give her directions and she keeps walking.
There’s nothing unusual about her. I think nothing of it until I get home a few moments later (I was close to home) and decided to go offer her a ride, since the place she asked about was on the other side of town.
I hopped in my car and drove back to the road I saw her on, drove slow looking for her. She wasn’t there. This was a long road heading into town and I’d been maybe five minutes since I saw her. I drove all the way back down the road but didn’t see her.
None of this struck me strange at all until the next day. – Ernesto P

There was also the time when my son was about 5 and randomly told someone, “I’ve been here before, but I didn’t come this way, I came another way” and then refused to say more about it. – Tracy M
Shared Dream
I had the same dream as my best friend, on the same night; that we both drowned in a flood. We both drew a picture of how we remembered the scene and it was almost identical. A clairvoyant woman in a bar told us years later that we were brothers in a different life, and that he drowned but I wasn’t able to save him. Not really 100% sure how much I believe in reincarnation either, but sadly I lost him in this life too and he’s no longer with us. – Alex K
How I Died
Two of my kids have said weird things like that too when they were about 3. We were watching the news one evening and they were showing some wreckage from a car accident. My daughter piped up, really excitedly, “That’s like the truck when how I died!!”
The other time my son asked me when we were going to go back to Johnna’s house. I had no clue what he was talking about. I’d never even heard that name before. I asked him who he meant and he was clearly annoyed that I had no idea. He said “ the lady in the white house who lives down the road with all the kids.” No clue. – Melissa V

Sphere
Lived near Pratt and Whitney propulsion lab/DOD and NASA lab in the middle of nowhere. I was a teen walking on the road with a friend at night. I got a feeling something was watching me. I look up and see a round sphere the size of a car 300 feet above us. It’s transparent. I can see the moon in the sky behind it. I scream and my friend and I are knocked to the ground by whatever the object is pulling away from us at such a high rate of speed. The trees and dirt from the road swirl around us. – Heather R
Dancing Lights
I saw dancing lights in the sky looking out my window one summer. Was a ritual of mine. Was prob 12ish. Then I saw an ep of the X files and one ep in the early 1st season was exactly what I saw! When I was in the army late at night I saw this group of lights up in the sky they looked organic and fluid. They were moving at a speed I have never seen in an aura of light they performed for a few minutes for me. Then they unified, stayed still for a second and disappeared. – Andreas K

Interdimensional McDonald’s
My mother and I got off the interstate on our way to Portland up from Sacramento. Suddenly there’s five feet of snow everywhere. We saw a McDonald’s. When we went inside, there were courtesy phones EVERYWHERE. I mean there was an entire counter lined up with phones. We’d never seen that. Our fries were hot and fresh and delicious. Mom said we should get back on the road before it started snowing again, so we did. We got back to the interstate, suddenly it was dry roads, no snow, clear skies. On our way home we decided we wanted to stop there again, but there was no exit, no town, no McDonald’s. We made that trip a half a dozen times more after that and never could locate it again. She and I agreed we’d found an alternate dimension. – Jennifer H
Detour
My high school sweetheart turned down a promise ring (this was the early 90s). I lived in a very hilly area and knew exactly which corner I was going to drive off of into the treetops. I came to a stop sign and that’s when I snapped out of it. I do not remember turning onto a different road that prevented me from ending it all before I even graduated from high school. – Lana B
The Long Way
I don’t have to think twice about this- 4 years ago I was taking a friend’s daughter (13 yrs) from Fort Bragg CA. to Sacramento CA, about a 3 and a half hour drive. We left at 12 pm, and should be there by 4 pm …1/2 way there is Clear Lake, and lots of little towns around the lake., One of the them- Nice CA. has a Fosters Freeze. It was a hot day, so we stopped in for an ice cream. It was about 2 pm… We got our orders, and walked across the street to the park that’s there, just to stretch our legs, and eat our ice cream. We were there, I THOUGHT, about 15 to 20 minutes. We walked back to the car, and my cell phone started ringing. I answered it, – it was the girl’s grandmother ( where she was going headed)- asking me WHAT THE HELL, where are you with my granddaughter??… So I looked at the clock, it was 7 O’clock in the evening !!!!! ( this was summer )… I was shocked & speechless,, but blurted out that we were running late,, and were in Nice CA., and should be there in 2 hours… I looked at my small passenger, and told her , hey- FIVE HOURS HAVE GONE BY. She didn’t believe it either. OUR ICE CREAMS HADN’T MELTED. We were both stunned to say the least. I put it out that we’d just experienced a Time Lag , or some kind of time something,- we lost 5 hours of our lives, in what seemed 15 or 20 min. We both agreed that this was the Weirdest Thing Ever- and that we were both a witness to it. We also agreed that her grandmother wasn’t going to believe it. – Crystal C
Wrong Turn
I was driving home from work a few months ago. I turned right onto the road that will take me into town and to my house. (Old country road no traffic) I remember clearly turning onto that road because there was a pretty cat sitting just off the side of the road. The next thing I knew I was driving down a road I did not recognize. I stopped and turned the car around. I was on a road 3 miles away from where I had turned to go home. Got out of the car and looked around trying to figure out how I got there. Drove back to where I had turned before. Same cat sitting there by the road. Still have no idea how that happened. Vanishing Accident
I was driving after dark in rural Australia. I usually make sure I’ve booked in somewhere and avoid driving late at night but on this occasion I decided to push on to the next town. I was in the middle of nowhere and there was NOTHING around, no cars, no streetlights, no houses, nothing. As I’m driving along in pitch darkness I notice a single light come up behind me, I thought it was a motorbike and half expected it to pass me but it just kept following a short distance behind. I was getting more annoyed than scared then after a few minutes poof, it completely disappears. I’m wondering what happened to it, did it pull over?, shut off its lights?, veer off somewhere?… It’s not 5 minutes after this that I see a huge glow of lights ahead of me. It’s far off over the horizon but directly in front of me on the road. There are pulsating red and blue lights with bright white beams moving about. I’m driving along and as I get closer I realize there’s been an accident and the pulsating lights are in fact police cars, ambulances and fire engines. Its been raining and the roads are wet so I’m instructed to drive slowly past the wreckage and emergency personnel, again there’s no other cars about just me and as I pass through the accident scene everyone turns and makes eye contact with me as I pass slowly by … I’m feeling uncomfortable at this point and the whole situation seems strange and surreal and as I get past the accident scene I’m pleased to see the glow of the town I’m headed for not far off in the distance. I’d not gone a minute past however when I looked back in my rear vision mirror and the whole scene was completely gone, just darkness again. – Sagara D

Baby Bigfoot
Driving In Montana some forested road out in “nowhere”. I saw something cross the road ahead of me on two legs. It was very thin and only about 3-4 feet tall. Standing Very straight backed “upright”. It had a small head and a very long thin muzzle like a dog, when I say “thin”… it seemed like it’s torso was 5-6 inches across. I still can’t make any sense out of it. I call it a baby Bigfoot when/if I tell this story… but In truth it wasn’t…It has a muzzle. – Ron H

The Running Devil
I am quite skeptical of the supernatural but have no explanation for this: when I was a kid I lived in the country and remember clearly one summer there was a buzz going around about “the running devil.” A gang of us went out to the fields behind my house to try to see it and waited… and waited…. and after what felt like an eternity kids started calling and sure enough I looked up and about 3-4 fields over there was the black figure of a man, with white eyes and a jagged smile, long gangly legs and a sack on his back (I remember this clear as day) running in a very exaggerated way along the hedgerow (he was, I’d estimate about a mile and a half away, but I could see his features very clearly). He ran along the hedgerow at some speed (knowing that field, the distance he ran and the time he took there’s no way a normal person could run that fast) then disappeared behind the brow of a hill). Of course some kids were excited, others terrified, I was never really frightened but couldn’t (and still can’t) comprehend what I saw. My logical side of my brain says it must have been some bizarre trick of the light but I’ve never seen anything else like it and just can’t fathom it. I’ve asked another friend who was there about it several times as I keep thinking it was a dream – nope, he’s confirmed he saw it too. No explanation. – Jon B

I verbally cursed a few people and bad things happened to them within 24 hours 1. Her car went into a ditch, 2. bee sting between the eyes, 3. rode his quad into a string between two fence posts(marker for a new fence) cut his mouth like the joker. – Ana M
Levitating
I once woke up from a really intense dream and felt my whole body fall back on to my bed. I know I wasn’t dreaming because I was wide awake when I felt myself falling, probably a few feet until I hit the mattress. It wasn’t like I had just been sitting up either because my torso, limbs and head all hit the mattress at the same time. I don’t think I got back to sleep the rest of that night. – Christopher D
Night Terrors
Night terrors, had them almost every night living at this house for 13 years , I had a brief nap after work then felt like the four corners of the bed sprung up and pinned me down with the sheets, only closed my eyes for a few seconds. – Jonothan B
Car Accident
I was leaving Walmart with my one year old, and put my bag with a glass vase in the truck floorboard at her feet. It was big, about the size of one of those big Folgers coffee canisters. I clearly remembered this, because I told myself I’d need to watch out for it when I got her out. On the way home, we were hit by a spinning car and my truck rolled over a few times down the shoulder. We were all fine (I was also pregnant), and I told my husband we were so lucky that she didn’t get hit or cut by the glass. He went a few days later to the tow yard to find my eyeglasses that’d flown off, and brought home the vase. He’d found it in the center console, (Huge console, F-150), completely intact, not a scratch on it. Also, her window had been off the track before this and it kept falling down in the door. I had to keep wedging it up to keep it closed. Immediately after the accident, I went to get her out but couldn’t open the door because it had been damaged so badly. But, the window had fallen back down, so I was able to just reach in and grab her. So many weird coincidences with that wreck. – Chesilin L
Gunshot
Napping soundly on my ex boyfriends sofa he was in the kitchen cooking when suddenly my name was screamed in my ear just as the sound of a gunshot went off. I woke up in a flash and found nothing to explain it. My ex was still cooking in the kitchen. No reason or rhyme to it. – Krys Z

I saw my (now ex) husband’s reflection in the faucet of the kitchen sink when he wasn’t home from work yet. Nothing bad happened to him, it was just really weird. – Kimberly D
Strange Breath
The crazy stuff happens to me in dreams… this particular incident happened to me twice. The first time happened after I had dropped off my husband at the airport in the early morning. I got home and decided to go back to sleep. I dreamt of feeling a man watching me sleep, only a few inches from my face and I could feel him breathing on me. I woke up immediately to make sure there was no one around me. Deciding it was a dream, I went back to sleep. Again, I could feel someone breathing on my face. The second time happened a few years later and in the exact same manner. Both times were during the day, and while my husband was away. – Sharon G

I had a growth on my foot while traveling through Mexico was just about to see a doctor about it but held off to visit the basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. It shriveled and came off two days later. – Adrian C
Strange Weather
Snorkeling on a hot summer evening at the east coast of the island Samsø in Denmark July 6 2013. I had no luck trying to harpoon some fish, and went to the surface. Suddenly I heard a noise, like distant artillery fire, and I thought that the best thing to do was to get out of the water, because you don’t want to be in the sea during a thunderstorm. But I had a really good 360 view of the sky, and could not see any black clouds. Then I looked at the coast on the main island of Seeland, and there I could see a very small, single pink cloud, maybe around a 150 feet above the ground, with multiple and crazy many lightnings coming from it, it looked really bizarre, because it was great weather and blue skies all around. I watched it for around 5 min. and then I got up, and went to my scooter, got my phone, wanting to take a picture, but when I came back to the shore, there was nothing to see, at the coast on the other side. I went home to my recreation summerhouse, and told my family about it, nobody believed me. Next morning I was checking Facebook, and then one of my friends wife, was actually staying at her summer house at the opposite coast, wrote on Facebook, that her neighbor had called the fire department, and the police, because she had been totally hysterical, when a small pink cloud slowly came from the sea, and stopped right outside the beach at her house, and almost exploded with thunder and lightning, when the fire department came, the cloud was gone. So I was not the only one who saw it!! It was the most crazy weather phenomena I’ve ever seen. – Anders J
Instant Repair
Saw UFOs twice. Also remember riding my bike behind my friend and he suddenly stopped short. My bike tire hit his bike tire, rubber to rubber and his tire bent in half, rim and all, then immediately snapped back. I can still see it clear as day. – Ken C

2017 This was the first time we both slept in the house that my friend would be renting. I slept in what was the children’s room. My friend slept in the room next to mine, the bathroom was across the hall from my friends room. For some reason I woke up and looked at the door that opened into my bedroom at the foot of my bed.
